1984: the company was founded as Boston Chicken by Steven Kolow and Arthur Cores in Newton, Massachusetts
1989: George Naddaff, who owned the KFC franchises in Boston, bought into the company.
1992: Scott Beck, who had been with Waste Management and Blockbuster Video during their spectacular rise, bought into the firm. It had 217 restaurants at the time.
1992: The company moved its headquarters to Golden, Colorado
1995: Boston Chicken added turkey, meatloaf, ham, and sandwiches to the menu and changed its name to Boston Market.
1995: Boston Market created a chain of bagel restaurants called Einstein Brothers Bagels.
1998: I ate at a restaurant and ordered the meatloaf. I liked the meatloaf but thought the side orders were overcooked.
1998: Boston Market filed for bankruptcy.
2000: McDonald's purchased the assets largely for the land and choice retail locations.
2002: Boston Pizza, of Canada, sued Boston Market over the used of word "Boston" in a Canadian restaurant name.
2007: Sun Capital Partners purchased Boston Market from McDonald's.
