Red Robin is a restaurant chain offering gourmet burgers and steak fries. As of 2015, the company listed 538 restaurants in the United States and Canada. The majority are corporate owned.
Red Robins traces its history to the Sam's Tavern is Seattle Washington. Sam was a singer in a Barbershop Quartet and he changed the name of his restaurant to "Red Robin" as he liked the song "When the Red, Red Robin (Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin' Along)"*.
Seattle Entrepreneur Gerry Kingen purchased Red Robin in 1969 and began franchising the restaurant in 1979. The company moved its headquarters to Greenwood Village in 1985.
Red Robin trades on the NASDAQ with the symbol RRGB.
