The Sports Authority is the place to find quality sporting goods and apparel. TSA carries gear for team sports and individual sports. TSA is headquartered in Engelwood, Colorado. In 2003, The Sports Authority merged with Garts Sports. This combined retailer is now the largest sporting goods chain in the United States with over 400 stores in 45 states. In 2005, TSA had aproximately 15,000 employees. Their headquarters are in Englewood, Colorado. The comany is currently held by the private equity firm Leonard Green, LP.
