Romano's Macaroni Grill
Romano's Macaroni Grill is a chain of upper end Italian Restaurants with about a hundred locations. The company moved its headquarters from Texas to Denver in 2017.
The company was expanded by Brinker International in the 1990s and, like most companies, shrank during the recession. The chain bounced around in the hands of private equity firms followed the a bankruptcy. The company appears to have re-emerged from chapter 11 as an independent chain.
Romano's acquired the 14 restaurant chain Sullivan's Steakhouse in 2018.

- 1988: Philip J. Romano opened the first restaurant in Leon Springs, Texas This location is now The Grill at Leon Springs.1
- 1989: Brinker International, Inc. bought the franchise rights to the company. They built 230 restaurants.1
- 2008: Golden Gate Capital, via Mac Acquisition LLC acquired a majority stake in Romano's.1
- 2013: Ignite Restaurant Group, owner's of Joe's Crab Shack, acquired Romano's in a $55.0 million all-cash transaction.
- 2015: Redrock Partners LLC of Scottsdale purchased Romano's for $8 million.
- 2017: Redrock filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy.4
- 2017: Romano's moved its headquarters from Houston to Denver.4
- 2018: Romano's acquired Sullivan’s Steakhouse which had 14 locations in 12 states for $32 million from Del Frisco's Restaurant Group.3
